Reports are now out that the left-handed slugger has just paid cash for a fabulous new home in Woodland, MN that sits directly on beautiful Lake Minnetonka—a home that also encompasses 3.1 acres of surrounding land and about 115 feet of private shoreline. 

Described as a Southampton-style beach house, the massive 6,700 square foot property includes five bedrooms, seven bathrooms, and a huge garage capable of storing up to eight vehicles. 

The Mauers currently reside in Sunfish Lake, which lies about 15 miles southeast of Minneapolis, but it’s anybody’s guess as to whether they’ll stay there and keep both residences, or eventually sell their current home and live in Woodland full-time. 

Back in March of 2010, Mauer signed an 8-year contract extension worth $184 million, which took effect in 2011 and runs through 2018. So regardless of what he and his family decide to do, they can certainly afford it.
