Minneapolis-St. Paul Named 17th Best Place to Live in 2017

U.S. News & World Report has named Minneapolis-St. Paul one of the top places to live in 2017, placing it 17th overall out of its list of 100 total cities

Every year, the popular news, rankings, and analytics media company analyzes the 100 most populous metro areas in the country to determine the best places to live, taking a wide-range of factors into consideration like quality of life, the local job market, affordability, and how many new people are moving to the area each year.

For Minneapolis-St. Paul specifically, affordability and the area’s thriving job market were two of the categories that scored the highest, with quality of life not far behind thanks to the Twin Cities offering a fabulous assortment of lifestyle and cultural attractions, including several highly-praised museums, sports stadiums and entertainment venues, and some of the best outdoor recreational amenities of any city in the country.

Minneapolis-St. Paul did take a hit in the desirability category, however, largely because of Minnesota’s rather harsh winters. But most of us who already live in the area embrace the winter season and spend just as much time ice fishing, playing hockey, and skiing as we do swimming, running, biking, and boating in the summer!
